Partner ties in the AOP network:
AOP is a network without any commitment. Members are not
obliged to use only AOP. Each member of the AOP-network
may continue to work with his tried and trusted agents.
Partners of the AOP-network are enjoined to use the AOP
logo on letterheads, business cards and Internet appearances showing
“Member of AOP“.
The membership at the AOP network is legally effective
after receipt of the membership fee. At the same time, all members of
the AOP network are informed when a new member joins
the network.
The membership fees to the AOP network are paid annually
with the exception of reduced fees for up to 100 members.
A notice to terminate membership at the AOP network must
be given 6 months prior to the expiry of the membership year.
General basis of calculation in the AOP Network:
The CC risk in the AOP-network always rests with the destination
partner. He decides whether to work on the basis of payment by cash or cheque
or on account, respecting the interests of the other AOP-member.
Exception: CC fees cannot be collected from the consignee for certain reasons.
At the AOP-network no break bulk fee is charged, only splitting charges
or similar fees as incurred.
Profit should be shared in a fair manner at the AOP-network:
AOP suggests a share of 50/50 for collect shipments. Members
of AOP should also share prepaid shipments routed by the
destination 50/50. The exception herewith is that AOP recommends
no profit share for normal prepaid shipments. The destination agent in the
AOP-network has the opportunity of profiting from local charges
in this case.
Of course all members of AOP may make other agreements.
At AOP the FOB costs remain with the departure partner, DDU costs
remain with the destination partner. As a basic rule in the AOP-network,
any losses are to be borne by the partner who generated the business.
